About Us

At Moving Moi CIC, we strive to reduce health inequality and enhance community health and wellbeing across Tower Hamlets and beyond.

We deliver culturally inclusive sport and physical activities, providing family activities that empower women, men, and children to build healthier bodies, stronger minds, and deeper social connections, all at no cost to residents who need it most.

In communities facing rising living costs, health disparities, and social isolation, access to movement and fitness classes is not always equal. We work diligently to close that gap.

Because when communities engage in movement consistently and together, wellbeing rises, and so does resilience—creating healthier households, more confident individuals, and a more vibrant local economy.

Through cycling programmes, fitness classes, bootcamps, and community-led activity initiatives, we create safe, welcoming spaces where people can engage in family activities, move together, rebuild confidence, and support one another through shared goals and barriers.

For many of our participants, balancing work, family, and financial pressures makes prioritizing health challenging. Our weekly sessions provide more than just exercise; they offer accountability, belonging, and empowerment in fostering community health.

We partner with local organisations, funders, and community leaders to address structural barriers to participation, increase access to physical activity, and deliver a long-term preventative health impact across Tower Hamlets.

Why Movement Matters

The evidence is clear. Regular physical activity, including engaging in community health initiatives and family activities, reduces the risk of chronic illness, improves mental wellbeing, increases life satisfaction, and strengthens social bonds. National research indicates that community sport not only provides billions in social and economic value each year but also eases pressure on healthcare systems while strengthening communities from the ground up through activities such as fitness classes. However, many families are still excluded from these benefits. We exist to change that.

MOVEMENT IS PREVENTION

From childhood to later life, staying active transforms health outcomes in our communities.

Stronger hearts and healthier bones

Reduced risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease

Improved brain health and cognitive resilience

Lower anxiety and higher life satisfaction

Physical activity isn’t a luxury; it’s frontline prevention and an essential aspect of community health.

Yet, across many underserved communities, access to family activities and fitness classes remains limited.

That’s where we step in.

Movement Builds Confidence

When people move together, something powerful happens within our community health. Mothers recovering from postnatal depression regain strength and connection through family activities. Men facing isolation rediscover brotherhood and purpose, while young people develop discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills that extend far beyond sport, often through fitness classes. Movement builds more than muscle; it builds identity, resilience, and belief.

MOVEMENT STRENGTHENS COMMUNITIES

Community sport isn’t just activity — it’s essential for community health and social infrastructure. Our fitness classes bring together people of different ages, backgrounds, and cultures who might otherwise never meet. Through shared movement, trust grows. Confidence grows. Belonging grows.

Volunteers, coaches, and participants don’t just attend; they invest in their neighborhoods through family activities.

Healthier individuals create healthier communities. Healthier communities create a stronger city.

MOVEMENT DRIVES ECONOMIC IMPACT

A healthier population enhances community health and productivity.

Every investment in grassroots physical activity, including family activities and fitness classes, reduces future healthcare strain, increases workforce resilience, and strengthens local economies.

When families thrive physically and mentally through these activities, the ripple effect positively impacts schools, workplaces, and public services.

Movement is not a cost; it is long-term economic infrastructure.
